'A very warm welcome to Mount Carmel Catholic School's website. At the heart of Mount Carmel is our very strong Catholic Ethos. We aim for every child to leave here as an ambassador of Christ. Working parallel to this is our drive for high standards. Through creating a supportive and nurturing school, children really have a passion for learning. We hope you feel this from looking around our website.'

English

Write a song or a story about punctuation. You could characterise the punctuation or write about punctuation... You could work in a team or individually to share out different pieces of punctuation and read it out as a team at the end.

Choose a story starter and follow the instructions below:

Choose a story starter, then discuss and share your ideas with someone else.

You can write it in any style - a poem, cartoon strip, play, dialogue and story, something else, .. or completely freestyle.

You can spread this task over two days by having one day to discuss and write (a short piece), followed by the second day being sharing your story or part of it with the class or someone at home.

Or, you can do two mini writing challenges, one on each day - choose, discuss, write and share (these can be short pieces).

You could give yourself a 10/15/20 minute writing limit! Or challenge yourself to include pictures too!

The fun here is being free to write, create and share your own imaginative story!

If you have spare time, you could play hangman, pictionary, Talking challenge: talk about an object for 1 minute challenge (describe appearance, purpose, history, feelings, value and more), charades, or other games that you agree to play together in class or at home.
Congratulations to our staff, and the hard work from Y6 2019, as due to achievement in Maths, we are currently in the top 2% of the Country. #Encourage, Challenge and Support.#
