'A very warm welcome to Mount Carmel Catholic School's website. At the heart of Mount Carmel is our very strong Catholic Ethos. We aim for every child to leave here as an ambassador of Christ. Working parallel to this is our drive for high standards. Through creating a supportive and nurturing school, children really have a passion for learning. We hope you feel this from looking around our website.'

Monday: Spend some time reading, use Bug Club if you would like.

Then create a poster advertising your favourite genres and titles of books.

Consider the following as criteria: use colour, include text boxes explaining the reasons behind your choices, draw book covers, include a list of recommended titles.

Present your poster to someone.

Tuesday: Finish writing your punctuation song, create actions, a tune and perform it to someone... even better, record it and share it with family or teach them the song too! Remember you could do a rap, pop song, ballad, rhyme, reggae style rhythm or other ideas you might have.

Wednesday and Thursday Writing Project.

If you need more writing tasks, look back at the story openers from last week and tackle one of them as well.

You could write as a different character or yourself. Or complete the task in a particular writing style: newspaper, recount, article, diary, letter, poem or more!

Friday: As you have covered all the official spelling words for year 5 and 6, here are some activity packs that will give you ways to practise and extend your spelling skills. There are more here than you need so have a go and see how much you get done.

Congratulations to our staff, and the hard work from Y6 2019, as due to achievement in Maths, we are currently in the top 2% of the Country. #Encourage, Challenge and Support.#
