Hello Nursery,

We have been super busy learning the Christmas story, all about when Jesus was born. This weekend look at the photo below and talk to your grown-ups about what you can see. Can you tell your grown-up about why the different people and who they are? Maybe you could add your thoughts to Early Essence or maybe you could draw a picture, ask your grown-up to write down what you say.

Have a restful weekend

Hello Nursery children,

This week we went to Space but our feet stayed on the ground! Can you remember what we saw inside the Dome? We saw a space rocket, astronauts, the planets, our moon and lots of stars. Now I wonder if you were to go to Space how could you get there? Maybe you could make yourself a space shuttle/space rocket or a space ship? What could you use? Have a look around your home. Have you got any plastic bottles, tinfoil, small boxes, yogurt pots etc. If you want to bring your creation into school please do, we can hang them up from the ceiling otherwise please add photos to Early Essence.

I have added a few ideas to the Google Drive...

Happy creating

Hello Nursery children,

Can you remember who Stanley is? We have been reading a book about him this week. What did he have (a stick) and where did he find it? Stanley had lots of fun with a stick, can you remember what he did with it? Here is a link from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfIuIQaOLlY . Maybe you could talk to your grown-ups about what you see in the clip. We also shared the story Stick Man. What happened to Stick Man? Talk with your grown-ups about the stories. Which one did you like sharing the most? I know which one I prefer...

This weekend maybe you could find a stick and go on your own stick adventure? Remember to only pick up sticks off the floor and don't take them from the trees. What can you do with a stick?

Have fun

Hello Nursery,

This week we have been learning about the Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah. Unfortunately, we are unable to cook/prepare food with you in Nursery. I wonder if any of you can make Potato Latkes with your grown-ups? Latkes are a special food that are made during Hanukkah to represent the oil that burned in the Menorah, for eight days. There are many recipes but I have included a link for Jamie Oliver recipe

https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/potato-recipes/basic-latkes/

Happy making, I hope that they taste yummy! Please share your learning on Early Essence.

Hello Nursery,

This week we have been learning about the Festival of Lights, Diwali.

Can you tell your grown-up about what happened to Sita, the princess? Who helped her?

Maybe you could draw a picture or retell the story using props, like we do (can you remember when i used two sticks and two people figures?)

Have a great weekend

Dear Nursery children,

Thank-you so much for going on an Autumnal walk over the half term and for bringing in the things that you found. Can you remember that we went looking for leaves out in the playground? What colours did we find? Maybe you could teach your grown-ups the song that we have been learning about Autumn leaves falling down.

After we had been on our Autumn walk we shared the story Leaf Man. Can you remember what happened in this story? Where did the Leaf Man blow to? What did he see?

What did we make using the leaves and other objects that we found? On Tuesday you made your own Leaf Man/Leaf Lady and Mrs Barber and I were so impressed. You did a fabulous job at putting the objects together. I have uploaded them to Early Essence for you to share with your grown-ups. This weekend I would like you to look at the photos and talk to your grown-up about your creations. What did you use? What do you like the most about your creation? Where do you think your Leaf Man/Lady could travel to?

Ask your grown-up to type up what you say and add it to Early Essence. Or maybe your grown-up could record you talking about your creation?

Have a fabulous weekend

23rd October 2020

Hello Nursery children,

It's the holidays! A whole week off nursery to spend time doing fun things with your family.

During your time off I would like you to go on an Autumnal walk. What is happening to the trees? Is there anything falling from them? Can you go on a leaf hunt? Can you collect different coloured leaves, leaves that are different shapes and sizes and bring them to Nursery after the holiday? What else might you find that you can bring in to share? Maybe your grown-up could take a photo/video of you out hunting for leaves and upload it to early essence.

What is happening to the weather? Can we still wear our shorts and t-shirts and go paddling in the sea?

Have a great half term and enjoy going on a leaf hunt

Take care

Hello Nursery children,

This week we started to share the story 'Aaaarrgghh Spider!'. This is about a spider who wants to become the pet in a family.  Please can you bring in a photo of your family on Monday, we can then talk about who is in your family, next week. If you have any pets at home please bring in a photo of them as well.

Have a great weekend
