Thursday 19th May
Hi all! Penultimate day was great fun. After watching amazing lightning in the distance last night, we had another glorious day today. Loads of fun activities - more abseiling, archery, giant swing, sensory trail followed by an evening of dancing, uno, football and laughter. Oh, and not forgetting the final heats of the Dobble championships. We’ve all had such a fantastic week. Lots of wonderful memories to add to the bank 😁
Wednesday 18th May
Evening all! Some very tired children (and teachers) after yesterday’s excitement so today was a chance for us to really get into the Isle of Wight spirit. Fencing, Jacob’s Ladder and Trapeze all saw fantastic teamwork going on. So many children, who had been quite nervous about the scarier activities, really pushed themselves and triumphed. We were so proud of them. Sensory trail saw children unbelievably happy to be covered in mud and Archery Tag a real competitive streak. In between, the Dobble Championships have been fiercely contested - and I thought Uno was the best thing since sliced bread! So, camp fire tonight with all on site becoming familiar with the dulcet tones of the Mount Carmel anthem - la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, laaa, don’t eat the roof, eat the coloured floor! No, me neither 🤷♀️

Tuesday 17th May
What an incredible time we’ve had so far! After dinner yesterday, we all played Ambush around the woods which the children loved followed by a surprisingly quiet night, thank goodness.
Today - incredible! Thanks Covid for causing staff shortages as we have literally had THE BEST DAY EVERRR! Blackgang Chine in the sunshine this morning with rides galore - rollercoaster, dinosaur trail, maze and water slides followed by a swinging galleon ride, mini train, falconry display and treetop walk at Robin Hill Park this afternoon. The children literally haven’t stopped screaming and beaming with pleasure all day. They’ve stocked up at the tuck shop and are off to play wacky races this evening. Let’s hope the tiredness overtakes the sugar rush tonight - fingers crossed. What a day 😁

Monday 16th May
Hello parents! Just a note to let you know we’ve arrived safely and all is well on the Isle of Wight. Our journey down from London was wet which did not bode well, but in true IoW style, as soon as we arrived on the island, the sunshine came out. We have just had a tour of the site, the children are all SO excited to be in their cabins and we are all looking forward to this evening’s Ambush activity. Check out our crossing and cabins and i’ll be in touch tomorrow evening. Over and out!
