World Faiths Week- Reception learn about Islam 9th June 2025
We had a guest speaker come in and talk about her beliefs and traditions as a Muslim. The children asked very insightful questions and were very respectful when listening to religious beliefs which are different to theirs.
Racial Justice- Pilgrims of Hope 'Journeying Together Towards Racial Justice.' January 2025
We have been responding to the Church's call, for the Jubilee Year and beyond, to work together to live in a world where there is racial justice and equality for all. Our RE Pupil Leaders led a Celebration of the Word assembly, following Racial Justice Sunday, where they spoke about the importance of racial justice.
Our children were given the mission, in the form of a family home learning task, to respond creatively to the subject. Here are some examples of their work.
World Faiths/Judaism Week November 2024
Rabbi Zvi has always been a popular visitor to our school. The children love learning about other faiths and cultures, and Rabbi Zvi said he really enjoys visiting our school as the children are so curious about other faiths and are able to articulate their thoughts so well. This year, the children took part in Shabbat and Passover workshops. The children in KS2 even got to sample matzah and challah which would form part of a traditional Seder meal.
Finally, 3W summarised all of our learning from this week in their thought-provoking and informative class assembly on Judaism.
World Faiths Week - Islam workshops - March 2023
During 'World Faiths Week', our Reception, Year 1 and Year 4 pupils had an online assembly where they learnt about the Qur'an. The Year 4 pupils then had an online workshop where they learnt about other elements of the Islamic faith and even got to write their names in Arabic!
Our RE Pupil Leaders interviewed a Muslim student teacher about her faith and together they prepared a presentation which they lead at assembly.
Mardi Gras
On Shrove Tuesday, ahead of Lent, we marked this special occasion with a whole school Mardi Gras. The pupils loved learning about how other cultures around the world mark this important time in the liturgical year.
The Walk of the Three Kings - January 2023
We joined the local Polish community in the Epiphany Walk from Ealing Broadway to Ealing Abbey to celebrate the arrival of the three kings. As we processed, the hymns were sung in English and Polish with our two communities joining together at this special time.
Diwali 'Festival of Lights' - October 22
Our Nursery children have been learning all about the 'festival of lights' by taking part in a dance workshop, learning about the story of Rama and Sita. They also made Diwa lamps, created Rangoli patterns and made some delicious chappatis.
