Welcome back to school for the start of the summer term.

I am delighted to share some wonderful news. Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School has now become an academy and joined the Saint Carlo Catholic Academy Trust (SCCAT). This is an exciting moment in the life of the school and in Catholic education across west London. 

Over the past two years, Mrs. Walsh and the school governors have worked ceaselessly to prepare for this change. They have shown great dedication in making sure that everything from consultation with staff to all of the legal and financial details was handled smoothly and carefully. I would like to thank them sincerely for their hard work and commitment. 

The Saint Carlo Catholic Academy Trust officially began on 1 April 2026 and brings together eight local Catholic primary schools: Mount Carmel, Our Lady of the Visitation, St Gregory’s, St Joseph’s, St Raphael’s, St Vincent’s, St Anselm’s and St John Fisher. The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School has joined as an associate member and will become a full member of the Trust in 2027. 

Together, our schools will continue to provide high‑quality Catholic education that nurtures faith, builds character, and promotes excellent learning. By working collaboratively, we will strengthen and protect Catholic education in our area for future generations.

After almost 38 years working in Catholic schools in London, I can honestly say that this is one of the most uplifting and hopeful moments I have experienced. We now have a wonderful opportunity to build on all that is already good in our schools and create an even brighter future for our children.
