Support for All- Including helplines for children, staff and parents/carers
If you are worried your child may need support with their mental health, please talk to your child's class teacher. Mrs Crouch is also available, contact the school office to make an appointment with her.
Many of you will already know about SCP (Schools Counselling Partnership) and the mental health services they offer our school. Claudio De Souzza is our Therapeutic Lead in School and he is here to support your child(ren), parents and also staff:
CHILDREN
The Space: Every Friday, Claudio goffers a lunchtime drop-in for children who want to talk about any feelings or worries they may be struggling with. This is a safe, confidential space where children can feel listened to in order to feel better or to better understand their emotions. The children can complete a Space slip and put it into one of the red boxes that are around school. If you would NOT like your child to make use of this service, please notify the school as soon as possible.
1:1 counselling: We have Izzy, who is an Arts psychotherapist, working with specific children who may benefit from more regular support, using therapeutic play and the creative arts.
PARENTS/CARERS
Sometimes we could all do with someone to talk to. If you would like to meet Claudio for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, he is available on Fridays at 9-10am. You can call/text Claudio on 07901-000609 or email him at claudio@schoolscounsellingpartnership.co.uk
SCHOOL STAFF
Claudio is also here to support all our staff, whether through trainings or by helping them think about specific children who may need a little extra help.
The Circle is a safe space for children and young people who are finding it hard to cope with their mental health. Our team is here when you need us the most, and will listen without judgement.
We also support parents and carers, as we understand how hard it can be to support a child when they are struggling with their mental health.
We offer:
A friendly space designed for young people by young people, including a sensory room.
A place where children/young people and their family can talk through their worries with our team, without waiting lists.
Signposting to appropriate support and information.
An alternative when A&E might not feel like the right place.
